Dear Members and Community Supporters,
As we welcome the spring season, the Columbian Club is excited to announce our comprehensive schedule of activities and events for the coming months. This year promises to be one of our most engaging yet, with opportunities for fellowship, community service, and meaningful contributions to our shared mission of civic engagement and fraternal support.
We invite all members and community supporters to participate in these important initiatives that strengthen our organization and serve our broader community. Whether you're a long-standing member or new to our fraternal society, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a difference.
Our signature fundraising event of the year, the Annual Spring Gala, will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2026, at the Grand Heritage Ballroom. This elegant evening brings together members, supporters, and distinguished guests for an unforgettable celebration of our organization's achievements and future aspirations.
The gala serves as our primary fundraising initiative, with proceeds supporting our scholarship program, community outreach efforts, and operational expenses for our civic and social organizations. This year's theme, "Building Bridges, Strengthening Bonds," reflects our commitment to fostering connections within our fraternal society and the broader community we serve.
The evening will feature a cocktail reception beginning at 6:00 PM, followed by a three-course dinner prepared by renowned local chefs. Entertainment will include live music from the Metropolitan Orchestra, a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses and artisans, and a special recognition ceremony honoring members who have demonstrated exceptional service to our organization and community.
Tickets are available for purchase through our administrative office or online through our member portal. Individual tickets are priced at $125, with table sponsorships available starting at $1,200 for a table of ten. Early bird pricing offers a 15% discount for purchases made before March 20, 2026.
We are also seeking volunteers to assist with event coordination, auction item procurement, and day-of logistics. If you're interested in contributing your time and talents, please contact our Events Committee Chair, Margaret Sullivan, at events@columbianclub.org.
As part of our ongoing commitment to civic engagement and community service, the Columbian Club will host our Spring Community Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 22, 2026. This annual tradition brings together members, families, and community volunteers to beautify our local parks, streets, and public spaces.
The cleanup initiative reflects our organization's dedication to environmental stewardship and community improvement. Over the past five years, our volunteers have collected more than 12 tons of litter, planted over 300 trees and shrubs, and restored numerous public spaces throughout our city. This year, we're expanding our efforts to include three additional neighborhoods and partnering with local environmental organizations to maximize our impact.
Volunteers will meet at the Columbian Club headquarters at 8:00 AM for registration, team assignments, and distribution of supplies including gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and refreshments. We'll work in designated zones throughout the morning, with a community lunch provided at noon to celebrate our collective efforts. All ages are welcome, and families are especially encouraged to participate as we instill values of civic responsibility in the next generation.
"Service to community is the cornerstone of our fraternal society. Through collective action, we strengthen the bonds that unite us and create lasting positive change."
To register for Community Cleanup Day, please sign up through our website or contact our Community Service Coordinator, James Patterson, at community@columbianclub.org. We ask that participants register by April 15, 2026, to ensure adequate supplies and team organization. Corporate sponsors and local businesses interested in supporting this initiative are also welcome to contribute supplies, refreshments, or volunteer teams.
One of the Columbian Club's most impactful programs is our annual scholarship initiative, which provides financial assistance to deserving students pursuing higher education. We are proud to announce that applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are now being accepted, with a firm deadline of April 30, 2026.
This year, the Columbian Club will award a total of $75,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants. Individual awards range from $2,500 to $10,000, with amounts determined based on academic merit, financial need, community involvement, and alignment with our organization's values of civic responsibility, leadership, and service.
Eligible applicants include children and grandchildren of current Columbian Club members in good standing, as well as students from our local community who demonstrate exceptional promise and commitment to civic engagement. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
Applications must be submitted electronically through our scholarship portal or mailed to our administrative office with a postmark no later than April 30, 2026. Late applications will not be considered. Our Scholarship Committee will review all submissions during May 2026, with recipients announced at our Annual Meeting on June 15, 2026.
For detailed application instructions, eligibility criteria, and access to the online portal, please visit our website's scholarship section or contact our Scholarship Coordinator, Dr. Elizabeth Chen, at scholarships@columbianclub.org. We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to support their educational aspirations.
The heart of our fraternal society lies in the regular fellowship and connection shared among members. Our monthly social meetings provide opportunities for networking, discussion of organizational matters, and enjoyment of each other's company in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
For the spring and early summer months of 2026, our social meetings will continue on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Columbian Club Hall. These gatherings typically include a brief business update, guest speakers or presentations on topics of interest to our membership, and ample time for socializing over refreshments.
April 6, 2026 - "Preserving Our Heritage"
Guest speaker Dr. Robert Martinez will present on the history of fraternal societies in America and the importance of preserving organizational traditions while adapting to modern times.
May 4, 2026 - "Community Impact Showcase"
Members will share presentations on recent volunteer projects and community initiatives, highlighting the positive impact of our civic and social organizations throughout the region.
June 1, 2026 - "Summer Social & Planning Session"
A casual outdoor gathering featuring a barbecue dinner and collaborative planning for summer activities and fall programming. Families welcome for this special event.
All members in good standing are encouraged to attend these monthly gatherings. Guests are welcome when accompanied by a member, and we particularly encourage newer members to participate as a way to become more integrated into our fraternal community. Light refreshments are provided, and there is no cost to attend.
For members unable to attend in person, we now offer a hybrid option with virtual participation via video conference. This accommodation ensures that all members can stay connected and engaged regardless of geographic location or scheduling constraints. Contact our Membership Secretary, Thomas O'Brien, at membership@columbianclub.org for virtual meeting access information.
Beyond these major initiatives, the Columbian Club offers numerous additional ways for members and supporters to engage with our organization and contribute to our mission. Our committee structure provides opportunities for members to apply their professional skills and personal interests toward organizational goals.
Current committees seeking new members include the Membership Development Committee, which focuses on recruitment and retention strategies; the Communications Committee, responsible for our newsletter, website, and social media presence; the Facilities Committee, which oversees maintenance and improvements to our club building; and the Political Organizations Liaison Committee, which coordinates our civic engagement and advocacy efforts.
We also welcome volunteers for one-time projects and special events throughout the year. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to ongoing involvement, there is a place for you within our fraternal society. Your participation strengthens our organization and enriches the experience of all members.
The success of our non-profit organization depends on the active participation of our members and the generous support of our community. Whether you're interested in attending events, volunteering your time, serving on a committee, or making a financial contribution, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.
For more information about any of the activities and opportunities described in this announcement, please contact our main office at (555) 847-2100 or email info@columbianclub.org. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and working together to advance the mission of the Columbian Club.
As we move forward into this exciting season of activity and growth, we are reminded of the enduring values that have sustained our organization for generations: fellowship, service, civic responsibility, and mutual support. These principles guide our work and unite us in common purpose.
Thank you for your continued membership and support of the Columbian Club. Together, we are building a stronger community and creating lasting positive impact through our domestic fraternal societies and associations. We look forward to your participation in the many opportunities ahead.
Sincerely,
The Columbian Club Board of Directors
